| Abstract | Penelitian yang kami lakukan berjudul Efektifvitas DuPont Analysis untuk Menilai Profitabilitas Perusahaan Asuransi Jiwa Nasional. Penelitian dilakukan pada semester ganjil tahun akademik 2020/2021, dimulai pada bulan Oktober 2020 sampai dengan Februari 2021, pada 10 perusahaan asuransi jiwa nasional yang memiliki aset lebih dari Rp 1 triliun, melalui website masing-masing perusahaan. Data diambil dari laporan keuangan selama 4 (empat) tahun, dari tahun 2016-2019, yang telah dipublikasikan, yang merupakan data sebelum pandemi covid-19. Metode penelitian yang dilakukan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan case study, dengan sampel penelitian adalah Return on Equity (ROE); Return on Assets (ROA), Total Assets Turn Over (TATO); Net Profit Margin (NPM), dan Debt Ratio (DR). Analisis data yang dilakukan adalah melalui kegiatan : tabulasi data, perhitungan DuPont analysis, melakukan pengelompokan hasil perhitungan, melakukan interpretasi untuk menengtukan tingkat profitabilitas perusahaan, dan menarik kesimpulan atas hasil analisis yang dilakukan. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa kondisi keuangan perusahaan asuransi jiwa nasional dengan DuPont Analysis secara umum terlihat kurang efektif dan efisien : perusahaan belum memanfaatkan sumberdaya perusahaan secara penuh, efektif dan efisien dalam hal pencapaian hasil penjualan yang maksimal; dan perusahaan masih banyak menggunakan hutang untuk meningkatkan investasi perusahaan. |
