Abstract Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui ada atau tidaknya pengaruh Hasil Underwriting dan Hasil Investasi terhadap penentuan naik atau turunnya Laba/ Rugi Usaha. Karena adanya pembatasan waktu penelitian, maka penelitian ini penulis batasi hanya pada Hasil Underwriting dan Hasil Investasi saja, hal ini dilakukan agar penulis dapat fokus dengan penelitian yang penulis teliti. Populasi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini ialah laporan keuangan yang terdapat pada perusahaan PT Sompo Insurance Indonesia periode 2012 -2017. Dalam penelitian ini, penulis tidak mampu menggunakan seluruh populasi untuk data penelitian yang digunakan, oleh karena itu peneliti menarik sampel dari populasi menggunakan metode quota sampling, artinya penulis menarik sampel dengan cara penulis menentukan sendiri berapa banyak data yang dibutuhkan penulis. Meskipun menarik data sebagian dari populasi yang ada, tapi diharkan sampel tersebut merupakan sampel yang baik untuk mewakili populasinya. Setelah dilakukan penelitian, hasil uji regresi linier berganda adalah sebagai berikut: 1) Tidak terdapat pengaruh antara Hasil Underwriting terhadap Laba/ Rugi Usaha., 2) Tidak terdapat pengaruh antara Hasil Investasi terhadap laba/ Rugi Usaha, 3) Tidak terdapat pengaruh dari masing-masing variable x secara bersamasama terhadap variabel Y. 4)Besar pengaruh dari kedua variabel X terhadap vriabel Y. Tidak terdapat nya pengaruh dari seluruh vriabel x terhadap variabel Y diperkirakan karena terlalu sedkitnya data yang digunakan oleh peneliti dalam penelitian ini. Kata Kunci : Hasil Underwriting, Hasil Investasi, Laba/ Rugi Usaha
